Swen Herrman: New Chairman of the VDMA Drive Technology Economic Committee

At the spring meeting at KTR Systems GmbH in Rheine, our CEO, Swen Herrmann, was elected as the new chairman on February 17, 2025. Together with Guido Sandkötter, Head of Sales DACH, who was confirmed as Deputy Chairman, both are looking forward to actively shaping the future of the VDMA Economic Committee.

With 34 participants, the meeting was well attended and provided an excellent platform for discussing current topics. Swen Herrmann, who has been active in various VDMA committees and working groups for more than 15 years, emphasized: “In order to run a company successfully, it is crucial to always be informed about the current challenges and opportunities in the industry. The exchange in the Economic Committee is invaluable in order to get a comprehensive picture. As the new Chairman, I look forward to further promoting and expanding this valuable dialogue.”

At the end of the meeting, Swen Herrmann thanked the entire team of Nicola Warning, Managing Director of KTR, for their hospitality and excellent organization. He also thanked the guest speakers Prof. Dr. Georg Jacobs and Mr. Jonas Schaub for their inspiring presentations on the topics of wind power and AI software automation. He also thanked the VDMA representatives Oliver Wack and Dr. Johannes Gernandt, for their reports on the geopolitical situation and the mechanical engineering economy. The final greeting went to Dirk Decker, Deputy Managing Director VDMA Drive Technology, who organized and moderated the meeting.
