Introducing New Compact Precision Gearboxes: Power in a 55 mm Frame

In line with the increasing demand for compact servo drives, Neugart has introduced three new precision planetary gearboxes in the 055 frame size, expanding its Precision Line with more space-efficient solutions. These new models—PSBN055, PSN055, and PSFN055—further enhance the Precision Line by offering powerful performance in smaller, space-saving designs.

The 055 frame size refers to the square dimension or centering collar diameter of the output flange, measuring just 55 mm in width. Despite their small size, these gearboxes deliver high torque density and precision, making them ideal for electronically controlled servo drives used in compact handling units, packaging systems, and various other machinery applications.

Each of these new gearboxes is available in 1 or 2-stage configurations, with gear ratios ranging from i=3 or i=4 to i=100. While they share many characteristics, their distinct design features make them suited to different applications. The PSBN055 and PSN055 come with an output shaft (smooth or with a feather key), a square output flange, and reinforced output bearings. The PSFN055, on the other hand, features a flange output shaft compliant with ISO 9409-1 and offers preloaded angular contact roller bearings for applications requiring enhanced flange performance.
