The Robotics Center at Campus West of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences is a research center for robotics and cobotics that develops innovative robotics applications for the industrial environment in cooperation with companies. The center is sponsored by Neugart GmbH, a supporter from the wvib (Wirtschaftsverband Industrieller Unternehmen Baden e.V.).
The robotics center has state-of-the-art equipment that opens up new possibilities for teaching and application-oriented research. The Rector of Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Stephan Trahasch, emphasizes the importance of cooperation between the university and companies in the Southern Upper Rhine region: "Through application-oriented research and close dialog, we want to jointly strengthen the competitiveness of small and medium-sized businesses."
The head of the Work-Life Robotics Institute (WLRI) at Offenburg University of Applied Sciences, Prof. Dr. Thomas M. Wendt, explains the goal of the robotics center: "A robotics center is being created at Campus West that will be unique in southern Germany. Together with our partners from industry and science, we will offer our students as well as medium-sized companies a highly efficient infrastructure. This will enable us to advance teaching as well as research and development in the fields of industrial robotics, collaborative robotics, sensor technology, 3D printing and robotics in care."
